On Friday, Dad went to see the neurosurgeon. He said that everything looks good and he got his staples out - so its official no more helmet for Dad! He will go back in a month and then he can go back to therapy...but he doesn't want him sitting around doing nothing!
Paying it forward...While they were seeing the doctor, he told them that he had just done a craniectomy on a man that really reminded him of my dad...because of his injury and because of his family. One thing led to another and mom and dad ended up going to visit with the family. It turns out that there were a lot of similarities with our situation and theirs - their dad was even Jim and he had all daughters. It was therapeutic for mom to be able to help the family as much as she could with comfort, information, and hope. It was good for dad to tell his side of the story and to see that even though the family was going through a tough time there was a lot of hope, faith, and a few smiles. So we still need some prayers for recovery but make sure that when you pray for this Jim and his girls, send some prayers to the other Jim and his girls.
