Update - moving on to rehab

Gabrielle and Mommy were at the hospital for the big move. Gabrielle rode with Daddy in the ambulance. This was her update when they left Cooper: Daddy has been so good - when we said he was leaving today he kept trying to get up and said, "I'll jump into the bag and just carry me out." We explained doctors were doing it and he wasn't being snuck out, so he said okay. We said he had to relax if he wanted to go and so he stayed still and after five minutes goes "I'm being good and relaxed, I'm ready." We asked him to smile for a picture and he smiled for like 5 minutes straight so me and mom laughed and he goes "what?? You said to smile ".. but he was so good and laughed and said bye to his nurses..
Tonight the rest of us went up and Dad was extremely tired and slept pretty much the whole time (but that's a good thing.) He has and aide in with him at all times to make sure that he doesn't do anything where he would get hurt.  But for the first time he looked relaxed and comfortable - no more tubes or beeping monitors or RESTRAINTS!!! And it was a quiet peaceful environment - big change from the unit he was in.  He loved having the freedom to move around in bed and scratch his own itches but he was calm and did not try to escape. He was snuggled up on his side with his hands up by his face and he even moved his pillow to different positions to get comfy.
Mom said that after his arrival a team of doctors came in to assess him from head to toe. They said that Dad seems like he will benefit a lot from what they have to offer but it is a long road. Tomorrow will be his first day of therapy so keep sending your prayers and positive energy. We'll post another update soon.
